Question: How do you actors do this !?!?!?
I am good at most things, so when I was asked to contribute on a cnbc business show I thought I would be perfect for it!.!.!.!. Before I went on tv I thought I was a pretty neat, smart, attractive, and pretty successful!.!.!.!. After, however, I now realize that I am dull, animated, average looking, attention seeking, and really just a nobody!.!.!. Talk about ripping your guts out and feeding them to you!.!.!.

I know they just wanted to get things right, but they scrutinized every aspect of my word phrasing, body language, and even facial expressions!. The more I tried to get right, the more nervous I became, and the worst I got at it!.!.!. They finally got the segment they wanted, but I took up more satellite time than they had wanted, I held up a number of people who wanted to go home, and I felt like the complete idiot !.!.!.!. I really wish I could unwind that experience and get my self respect back!.!.!.

Anyone else have similar experiences, or am I just that badWww@QuestionHome@Com

With all due respect to you, and no offense meant to others, most of them say First Time!?!?!? That's an assumption, not stated in your detail, as fact!. You also don't state the HOW and WHY of getting that JOB!. To even be considered for a spot on CNBC, did you fly to the moon without a ship!? Or dive the Marianis trench holding your breath!?

You also don't state your age, any valid, other experience, and what the context of the segment was, IE: Interviewing someone who just witnessed a meteor hitting their neighborhood!? ETC, or a practiced professional marking time while Greenland melts!?

All that said,,,so much of what I do not know about you, is most what I know about me, in some related sense and empathy!. As a writer for most of my life, I used to cringe at rejection slips!. Soon enough came acceptance as well, and the rejection notices became trophies in so much as, at least there was some notice being taken of my efforts!. Beyond that, and again with no offense, SELF respect, must be SELF generated!. It is not taken from you by anyone else, nor is it applied to you, by anyone but you!.Www@QuestionHome@Com

i have had a similar experience for a commercial audition

i knew i wasnt doing well i was speeking to fast and my hands were shaking

i think part of the reason was because i was a little sad about fighting with my friend the night before and i was intimidated because i was 14 going up against 19 and 20 year old girls!!

now i know just to be confident and leave my troubles out the door and now im gaining a lot of success!! so just keep going and after an audition just let everything go and pretend the whole audition never happened even if you thought you did great just let it go or youll give your self false hope whatever happens happens :) i learned all that from a casting director i trained withWww@QuestionHome@Com

Don't be so hard on yourself!. Everyone has a first time, and take it as a token for your future experiences!. However, it does sound a little harsh that they would do that!. But if you want advice, just act as though they like you!. It really helps with confidence especially on t!.v!. Oh, and LOVE YOURSELF!. You sound like a pretty good person, so don't worry!. You gave it your all!.Www@QuestionHome@Com

when i first started acting i took every comment to heart and felt really bad about everything but you have to remember they're only trying to help you so that you will look better and trust me you don't want to looke bad infront of an audience some classes may help with body language and facial expressionsWww@QuestionHome@Com

dont let this sorta thing happen to you over one simple thing!.
your only feeling that way of your self because you are struggling with you appearances on t!.v and your probably worried about who might see you on that show!
but when you mess up your lines just keep trying till you get it right
oh yeah and no, i dont have any experiences, only adviseWww@QuestionHome@Com
