It's very late for me, and I mean you no disrespect, and your details are irrelevant to any of us, but are obviously important to you!.

What bothers me more,,,as a writer for 50 plus years is, "Now I feel Drained"

Without knowing at all your age, your talent level, or your passion, I hope you're still feeling a DRAIN 50 years from now, but TOUGHING IT OUT!.!.!.sigh!.

Again with no offense,,,there are NO ORIGINAL thoughts any longer, just original ways to express, and going back to your details you could fill libraries, if you got over the self pity or doubt!. In whatever experiences you list and state that you have, why in a lifetime would you ever need to ask anyone for an idea!?!?!?Www@QuestionHome@Com

why not write a draft!? just keep on writing, let your ideas flow!. :)

you can start with an outline!. jot down the characters, the setting, and a gist of the plot!. Then follow that outline while keeping the theme of the play you want!. It'll be nice if you inject some of who you are in a character!.Www@QuestionHome@Com

why don't you write about mexican american college students trying to show the world (well, those who don't believe) that they can become a doctor, chemist, pilots if they so choose too!. Let the theme be!.!.!.!.Against all odds!. If that has not been done yet!. Im sure you can come up with that one!. Think about it!. For some reason it is crazy how hard it is to get an education make, it throught, get the diploma, work and still have people look at you in disbelief!.Www@QuestionHome@Com

how about writing about a writer that is stuck so she does crazy things to get inspiration for a story!.!.!.like jumps off a building, goes on a date with a clown (this can or cannot be taken literally your choice ;)), searches for the cash cab all day long, pretends to be homeless, goes to a strip club, etc!.

And now that I've used up my one good idea I would like this book dedicated to me if you pick my idea!Www@QuestionHome@Com

I think you need a vacation!.!.
a chance to live a little!.!.
then you can draw on the experiences of that vacation!.
even if you stay at home!.
just take a break and don't force creativity for a few days!.
and then sit and write about whats closest to your heart!.
there you will find the passion to keep it alive!.Www@QuestionHome@Com

How about a play about a kid living in a country where the government is tearing apart everybody because of their beliefs in religion!.Www@QuestionHome@Com

I would help you, but i'm too in love with your beleifs!.Www@QuestionHome@Com

Write about your life and the events in itWww@QuestionHome@Com

When I write and I'm looking for a topic for anything, be it a play, screenplay, book, poem, I try to first get inspiration from my life!. This can be from events that have happened to me, dreams I have, anything!.

If that doesn't work (and I'm assuming it hasn't for you) I read books, watch movies or listen to music that I usually don't dabble in too much!. For example, I'm not a big fan of sci-fi movies or books, so I'll watch some Star Wars and it will give me an idea!. Even if the idea isn't related to sci-fi, which is often the case, it got my creative juices going because I was exposing myself to something beyond what I usually see in my day-to-day life!.

If that doesn't work, try asking a "what if!?" question!. This can be very simple!. For example, think of the poverty in the world!. Ask yourself, "What if someone was given the choice to die but to know that all of the poverty on the planet would be cured, and no one would ever go hungry again!?" A play on that subject alone could raise a lot of moral, philosophical and psychological questions!. It could be interesting!.

In the worse case scenario, go on the Internet and look up story starters on Google!. They'll give you pictures or a few sentences to start off a story and it's up to you to finish it!. This might give you the kick-start needed to think up your own ideas!. This really should only be a last resort, though!. You might get so frustrated that they can think up all of these ideas and you can't that you'll just give up entirely!. That's happened to me a few times!. But it might be something to spend a few hours on and see if it doesn't help!.

I hope my suggestions have helped, and I wish you the best of luck!. Inspiration comes when you least expect it! Don't try to force yourself to come up with something!. Staring at a blank page on your computer monitor is stressful and often lowers one's self-esteem when it comes to writing!. It's useless to force yourself to write when you can't!. Spend that time trying out the suggestions I made and you'll hopefully write a prize-winning play in no time!.

Take care!.Www@QuestionHome@Com
