OK, you are a soprano!. You don't say what role you're auditioning for and since the only female roles are the Narrator (who is a pop mezzo belter), Mrs!. Potiphar (who doesn't sing) and the wives (all but one are pretty non-descript!. One has to be able to sing some ahhhs during the Western song after they sell Joseph) I'm going to assume that you want the Narrator role!. Since you are a soprano, are you absolutely certain you have the power and range to handle the role!? If not, choose a song that shows you can handle the "ahhhs" and be a wife or Mrs!. Potiphar!.

Honestly there isn't much Andrew Lloyd Webber audition material to pull from for this role in my opinion!.

For the Narrator you could try:
I Want to go to Hollywood - Grand Hotel
Not For the Life of Me - Thoroughly Modern Millie
Astonishing - Little Women
Naughty Baby - Crazy For You
The Gods Love Nubia - Aida
I Want It All - Baby
Two People In Love - Baby (technically a duet but sheet music for solo is available)

They may not be the same style but they can show vocal power and in the case of this role I believe that is most important!. If you are friendy with the director you could always ask his/her opinion!. Ideally you would already know your song well or have LOTS of time to prepare!.

best of luck to you,

Do NOT sing something from that show!. It's generally a good idea to sing a song written by the composer of the show you're auditioning for, to show that you can handle music in their style, so look at other Andrew Lloyd Weber shows and pick a song that suits you!. We can't tell you what specific songs are good for you, because we haven't heard you sing anything!. I'd suggest staying away from obvious stuff like "Phantom of the Opera" and "Cats," as those shows are just too obvious and the director will likely have to suffer through a LOT of people singing stuff from those shows!. Take a look at "Starlight Express" and "Sunset Boulevard!."Www@QuestionHome@Com

Find an Andrew Lloyd Webber song you like - they are usually in the same key (he loves E major)!. The songs are usually of the same type sang in his musicals!. Find something that will highlight your range!. Usually, the song should not be longer than two minutes which means, you have to edit it - if that is what they required!.Www@QuestionHome@Com

Sing something that shows how great of a voice you have, and sing something by the same composer (songwriter) of the show that's in your octive!.Www@QuestionHome@Com

something from the play!.Www@QuestionHome@Com
