Best Answer - Chosen by Asker: Eliminate all distractions!.!.!.!.meaning no computer, no phone, no tv, no friends, no parents, etc!. Pretend like you're really in the play/show/movie and make it seem realistic!. I know just reading the lines are boring!.!.!.most of the time you won't even be able to memorize it!. Just act interested read a line 5 times then turn the paper over and repeat the same line over and over!. Then keep the paper turned over and start all over and stop at the line you just learned!.!. Keep repeating this throughout the entire script and you should learn it in no time!! good luckkWww@QuestionHome@Com Take it into a dark alley and bludgeon it to death!. Are you at the point of performance, or is this still in rehearsal - if the later it may be expected that all your lines may not be memorized perfectly!. Go with the flow, and do the best you can - a lot of memorization can be picked up in combination with where you are at in the play - you can memorize by connecting your lines with a spot on the floor or an action you are taking (I say "X" when I wave my hand) Otherwise its just repetition, straight and hard - read the line and do as much as you can remember!. Do it again, adding a line or phrase!. Repeat, Repeat, Repeat!. Add another line!. Connect the last word of one line to the first of the next!. Repeat, repeat!. Rest go back and see how much you've got down!. Then do it all again!. Shift to another part of the script for a while, then go back Repeat!.Www@QuestionHome@Com Having memorized thousands of lines of dialog, I can tell you that there IS NO SHORTCUT!. You must read and recite them over and over and you must understand why you are saying them!. You need help of course, you need someone to feed you prompts and correct your lines!. But if you have to learn more than a paragraph or two overnight, I'd say your chances are pretty slim!.
