Where to find tips and techniques varies depending on what kind of acting you're talking about!.

The best way to act well is to use your imagination!. If you don't have an imagination, develop one!. It is impossible to act well without being able to picture yourself in the environment you are portraying as an actor!.

For instance, if you are supposed to be in a dessert scene, breathe heavily and walk slowly as if through sand!. If it is a beach scene, lean back a little -JUST a little- to portray wind!.

If you're doing stage acting, over exaggerate all your expressions, so the people in the back can see them!.

Watch movies with a mirror and pause and rewind certain scenes trying to immitate the actors words and expressions!.

Spend at least five minutes a day practicing different expressions in the mirror to be in touch with your face!.

If you aren't embarrassed, take videos of yourself, place them on youtube and ask for acting advice in your discription!. You're bound to get some!.

Number one thing to remember when acting (especially stage acting) is not to ever be embarrassed of what you're doing!. Remember, you're not playing yourself!. It's not you, so do anything and everything that specific character would do in that specific situation!.
