As an artist, you might consider the following headings: Objectives *Possibly Education(if you have a degree or special academic training) Skills Achievements Work History Your resume should follow your personal needs rather than the other way around!. Highlight your assets and make no reference to what you may lack!. You might consider a well-written cover letter that "sparkles" with enthusiasm for the job you are applying for!. I really feel strongly that you need a "portfolio" type of resume that will contain professional photos of you on one side and your cover letter and resume on the other!. As a visual artist, this is the sort of resume I use for myself!. A performing artist's resume should include: education, skills, employment experience and career objectives!. Put Objectives as your first heading if you are lacking in experience!. That way you can present yourself as an exuberant performing artist who is dependable, enthusiastic and ready to work as a team player!.
