Question: How to start an acting career!?

Okay, I plan on going to college, but i want to be an actor (Going to college just incase the whole acting thing doesn't work out) How would i find acting classes or lessons in Pennsylvania!.!.!.Www@QuestionHome@Com

I'm not sure exactly what you mean!.!.!. like a movie star / tv show actor!? or just skits and plays at a local theater!.!.!. For the movie one I think that you should start off with the theater performances to see if it's something you are capable and interested in!. From there you need to learn, and then practice!. After you're pretty good try some auditions for something small, like a commercial or something, to get a feel for it!. Then audition for a movie, even if it's just a small part in the movie, it's a start to your career!. Being able to sing well can help too! Oh yea, and try getting advice from actors/actresses too!Www@QuestionHome@Com

i'm sorry, but please rethink this major decision!!!!! actors are the most shallow, superficial people ever!. they read what other people write for them and are the most conceited people ever!. think about it!. they get paid millions a year, while teachers get paid so little while molding the minds of our youth!. they do soooo much for this country!. please stand with me to boycott this industry! i mean, i myself perform in community stage productions as a hobby, but a career!? go into something that will change the world!.Www@QuestionHome@Com

Pennsylvania--regional theatre is cool!. There's always a local playhouse somewhere that could use help and actors!. It's a start!.

Make sure you study it in college!.

Call local colleges and see if they need younger folks for roles!.

There are special agencies that can help you!.
When an advertisement or program or movie need people to act in them they will go to agencies to choose, you should join these, sometimes it costs a bit of money to start but who knows!.!.!. you might go far!.Www@QuestionHome@Com

Search the internet!? Im sure there are a few!.
Then contact them see if you can arrange an audition or something and if it goes well your in!.
