Remember to warm up your voice before starting!. "Freeing the Natural Voice" Kristen Linklater, is a fantastic book for voice talent!. There is another Method By Roy Hart you could also look for!.

Other options include dialect work!. If you learn the International Phoenetic Alphabet it will help you learn how to use dialects!.

Try doing some yoga/stretching of your body as a warmup then start to work in sound vocaliztions!. dont worry about the words!. If you take a line of text and work the vowel sounds first then work the consanants!. Meisner technique will have you repeat the text with rapidity and switch it so it means something new each time!. For instance how many ways can you say yes!. How does it change each time you say it!. You always need to open your voice and free it!. Another excercise would be to balance a stick on your hand and recite your text and follow the stick so when you are off balance it will come out in your voice!. Other excercises will have you slapping a pillow or other soft object on the beats of interest in the text!. Or pushing against the wall!. Another excercise would be to run with your scene partener and purposefully get out of breath and continue to recite lines!. You could also put on any TV show or cartoon, turn off the volume and recite you text based on what you see!. The main goal is to take yourself offbalance to find what the right vein is!.
good luck, its a lot of work!Www@QuestionHome@Com

Obviously there's changing pitch and tempo, but try saying things and stress them differently, as this is what most differentiates us from others - stress different words, draw some words out longer or clip the ends to make them harsh!. It all depends on the type of character you're playing!. Try with different mouth shapes as well - start off with very exaggerated shapes, then slowly tone them down a bit until u hav a repertoire of lots of different, real sounding voices!. U can also change how loudly or softly u speak certain words, how fast or slow u speak, how high or low etc!. U can use ur throat to make ur voice more shaky or strong, just experiment until u can change between voices easily!.Www@QuestionHome@Com

singing chords helps!. holding your breath for as long as you can on a regular basis!. `laude te`(laow day tay) chanting is very effective; start as low as you can without actually whispering and raise the volume and/or pitch to as high/loud as you can go!. Practise this every day and you will soon be able to project like brian blessed!.Www@QuestionHome@Com
