You're not going to want to hear this but!.!.!.!. the best way to pick a monologue is by reading an entire play and finding a selection that you like!.
Alternatively, you can go to Barnes and Noble or someplace and buy a monologue book!. THEN when you find one you like, be sure and read the play and then work on your character development for the piece!.
