Head shots???

Question: Head shots!?!?!?

i think i'm going to have to take my own head shots-because i don't have the money to get them done!. my mom can do them-and she's a good photographer-but can anyone give me hints or some ideas!?

I took my own headshots when I first started!. Pay extra attention on your make up and the lighting since nobody will photoshop your pics!. (I assume you don't know how to photoshop, I didn't know)

And yes, wear plain clothes!. Don't try to be sexy, headshots shouldn't really be sexy!.Www@QuestionHome@Com

Some of these can be fudged a little, but I would recommend:
1) Wear a dark solid-colored shirt if you are pale or light skinned, or a bright, solid colored shirt if you are more olive-skinned or darker!. No fancy collars, stripes, polka-dots, etc!.
2) Do basic make-up very well!. That will always be better than detailed make-up done not-very-well!. A little mascara, some neutral lipstick, some blush, and a bunch of foundation!. Try to make it look as natural as possible: however much this may suck, you're marketing YOU, not your individual style or keen fashion sense!.
3) Don't wear extravagant jewelry!. Some small earrings are okay, but steer clear of necklaces and rings that draw attention away from your face!. You want the casting agent to remember you, not your bracelets!.
4) Learn some very basic photoshop stuff, or get a friend who knows how!. This is just for problem zits that won't go away, or things like that!. Maybe a little bit smoothing out!. But don't do too much so that it gets to a point where you look like a mannequin!. Trust me: these people have seen enough headshots so that they know when your make-up was done on a computer!. ;)
5) Make sure the camera is high quality!.
