I'm not sure if you have any training, so my answer is from the point of view that you have no training and experience!. I don't know if you are an adult either!. So if you are 18+ you can get started and get some experience being an Extra in t!.v!. and films!. By being an atomosphere actor (an Extra) you can network with people in the business and find out the top agencies you should audition for!. Look up the New Jersey Film Office to get info on what's filming in your state and what production company needs Extras in their film!. Since you are on the East Coast check out BackStage!.com!. There are tons of audition notices, school listings, and photographer listings so you can get training and good pictures!. If you can travel to New York go their for training!. Call good reputable schools and ask for a list of agents, casting directors, and photographers!. Always check with the Better Business Bureau online site to ensure you are dealing with a reputable school, agency, and photographer!. Plus do Community Theatre, audition for a local community theatre get cast and invite agents and casting directors to the play!. Make a promotion package with your headshot & resume, tickets to your show and a letter introducing yourself to them!.

In modeling you will need a composite card and a portfolio!. You will need these for commerical modeling!. Or have a friend or family member take a few snapshots of you (a face shot and a full length shot) and walk in the modeling agencies on their open casting call days with your snapshots for an audition!. From there the agent will let you know of your chances as a model!.
*Remember to be careful because there are tons of scammers out there!.* Check places out 1st with the BBB!.org!.
