Question: Acting resume questions/skills!?
hi !.!. i took an acting class and it was my first experience with acting ever and there were people there who had experience in plays and could sing & dance !.!.
the only thing i have on my resume is 2 classes and i have some skills like flexibility,british accent !.!.!.
but i can't sing just because i don't have that talent lol and i can't really do professional dance because i have muscle weakness !.!. are being able to do those things important in an acting career !?
and where do people usually find legit auditions!.!. not those ones you have to sign up on line for & pay !?Www@QuestionHome@Com

well you should first do a bit of community plays or school plays to get something on your resume, but the classes will count on there!. so good job! singing and dancing are not importatn to acting unless you want to be in theatre acting (like Broadway) or if the part specifically calls for a singer!. but you really should take more classes and plays first before making an actual resume!. but good job on following your passion no matter what! so what if you have muscle weakness you can still act, dont care what other ppl say about you or that!. i have a passion for acting (just like breathing air) and i am dyslexic! ppl tell me i shouldnt do it because they think i wont me able to read the script or something but that doesnt stop me!Www@QuestionHome@Com
singing and dancing is pretty important!. its not what makes or breaks an actress though!. but if the part calls for someone who sings and dances in one of the scenes, and the cd's are deciding between you and a girl who can sing and dance, they'll probably pick the girl who can sing and dance!. but if you're absolutely the perfect girl for the part, they can teach you to sing and dance!. or if you can't dance because of a physical problem, you might want to try doing something else, because acting is tiring!. but if you can't dance because you've got two left feet, they'll hire someone especially so that you can learn to dance!. umm!.!.!. don't take this the wrong way, but flexibility and british accent aren't uncommon skills!. lots of people have them!. flexibility really does help with singing though, so you should enroll in a dance class!. it really helps on a resume when you say that you can sing and dance!. do get legit auditions you need a talent agent!. to get a talent agent, you need a list of agencies in your area, and you need to send them your headshot, cover letter, and resume!.Www@QuestionHome@Com
A lot of serious actors can't sing or dance, it may be a problem if your trying to go into disney channel or something like that (because they are very interested in multi-talented kids), but other wise it should be fine!. Since you only have 2 classes on your resume I suggest that you do some school and community plays just so you have some experience on your resume!. Then find some local agencies, start sending headshots around, and see if you can get signed!.Www@QuestionHome@Com
Try to get an agent, they will help you find a job!.
You don't need to dance in order to get an acting career you'll just have a better chance finding jobs if you can dance and sing!.
