His techniques are similiar to Meisner method!.
He mainly teaches how to "act for the camera/film"!. Subtle physicalities that are noticed on film!.

Some things he teaches are: prepare for the ROLE!. Don't "memorize lines first, learn the plot as that is key to what your character would say!. Research what the character is all about!. Listen, listen, listen, to what other characters in film are saying to you!. Look at the characters when they speak *unless the scene calls otherwise*!. Stay 'in the moment'!. Expressions in film are easily picked up!. So, subtle movements are key in film!. Remember there is no 'one way' to play a character!. What will make your performance special is to bring your 'unique' person to the character!.

Barr's technique is all about reacting instead of acting!. The studio is in LA!. His book is Acting for the Camera and is the best book on acting there is and the info is useful to stage actors and screen actors!. I only recommend three books for aspiring actors and Barr's is one of them!. Barr does not make appearances, he died!. But his technique is still taught at his studio!.Www@QuestionHome@Com
