Best Answer - Chosen by Asker:
I've never heard of Weist-Barron, but William Esper was named the best acting teacher in New York by industry authorities for two consecutive years!. He teaches the Meisner Technique!.
If I'm not mistaken, many of his students go on to careers in film and television!.
I began studying at the Ward Studio in New York!. Wendy Ward focuses primarily on theatre, but also teaches the Meisner Technique!.

You might find this page helpful on my site for new and aspiring actors!. It talks about how to choose an acting school:

And this page, which is based on an interview I did with Hollywood acting coach Bernard Hiller!. Among other things, he talks about how to know if a school or class is right for you:

Good luck!
