What is the theme of Der Rosenkavalier?

Question: What is the theme of Der Rosenkavalier!?

I'm doing a paper on Strauss' Der Rosenkavalier and after watching the opera, I'm not 100% sure on what the theme is!. I've checked all the usual websites (i!.e!. Wikipedia and Spark Notes) but none of them seem to give a good description on the theme!.

Does anyone have a website with the theme or have their own opinion as to what the theme is!?

sorry i've never seen it myself but it sounds very interesting!. there seems to be multiple themes revolving around each other, which may be why it's hard to pick just one!. did something in particular move you or shock you!? maybe start from there and see what happens!.Www@QuestionHome@Com
