Belting is singing in your more powerful chest voice in a higher range where you could switch into head voice!. A lot of the more recent musicals call for big belting - "Defying Gravity" from Wicked is a song where the singer belts almost all the way through - if you listen to it you should be able to hear what I mean!. If it's done incorrectly it can damage the voice irrepably, it's something that needs to have the technique correctly taught!.Www@QuestionHome@Com
