Question: Go to college, to become songwriter or actress!?

What would you go to college for to become those things!?
Or do you even hav to go!?

You don't have to but if you're really serious about developing (especially as an actress), there are degrees in acting and music!.

The school I go to offers an Acting degree as long as Music, Music Theatre and minors in creative writing!. If you wanted to pursue song writing you could take a music (of composing since some schools offer that as well) major with a minor in writing!.

But there definitely are acting and music majors out there!. However, it's very competitive since most of those are by audition so it's something you've got to be serious about!.

Universities offer many opportunities!. I'm in the arts dept at my school and many people go to things like SETC (South Eastern Theatre Conference) to get summer work and my school, for example, has had Jason Robert Brown (composer of the musicals The Last Five Years, Parade, and Songs For A New World) and Dave Clemmons (NY casting director) come in the last year to teach master classes and look out for new talent!. Going to universities will give you an edge over those who don't and can very well help get your foot in the door!.Www@QuestionHome@Com

actress= there are many adds in papers/ magazines for drama schools!. there are many adds in seventeen magazine!. If you go to college, major in drm/ performing arts!. you could be recongized there!
