First of all, GREAT song choice!.

A few tips that it is good to know is in preparation for the audition, sing the song over and over and over again!. You aren't ready unless you are almost sick of singing the song!.

Have confidence, or at least fake it!. When a director looks at a person auditioning and sees that they are extremely nervous or scared, it lessens your chances of getting in because they think well maybe since they're scared now they'll be scared when we perform the show!. If you are really nervous, bring a friend with you to audition!. It will calm you down!.

Wear something that will distinguish you from other people!. If you are invited to call backs, wear that same thing!. It will help the director remember you!.

Stay focused, quiet, and be respectful of others!. If you aren't on task or respectful in the atmosphere of an audition, imagine what the director will think you will be like in the relaxed atmosphere of rehersals!.

Be friendly and energetic!. In a show like Hairspray, friendlyness and energy in the cast is crucial in making the show good!. The director will be looking for that!.

Good luck and have fun!Www@QuestionHome@Com

1!.) Protect your voice: I once had laryngitis TWO DAYS before my first musical audition!.!.!.not good!. Your voice is whats going to get you in!. If you can, drink hot chamomille tea every night, with a dollop of honey!.

2!.) Always exude energy: You need to be on top of your game come audition time!. If you're having an off day, the person behind you will grab your spot immediately!. Besides, directors want to see life on the stage!. Be a character, and your in!.

3!.) Don't let your nerves get to you: It may be a little daunting!.!.!.well, VERY daunting, but it will be over in 5 minutes tops!. If you've been practicing, you should be confident enough that you're not nervous!.!.!.that feeling should just be adreneline!.

I hope I could help, and break a leg at your auditions!.!.!.DON'T FORGET TO SMILE!!!!Www@QuestionHome@Com

The biggest thing that I can tell you that hasn't been addressed would be the way you carry yourself!. Stand tall when you enter the room, head up, smile with your eyes, be aware of what you look like while singing!. When going for big notes make sure you keep your eyes open and work so you don't look manic while singing (practice in front of a mirror)!. Avoid using your hands to emphasize the music, it's a huge theatre cliche; avoid at all costs!. also confidence is the key!. Treat this audition like it will never happen again and just own it!. After all is said and done, don't regret anything!.

Good luck!.Www@QuestionHome@Com
