Question: Acting Degree!?!?!?
I am 15 and my passion is for acting, I want to be an actress!.
When it comes to college, would it be benefitical for me to get some sort of acting degree!? Is their an advantage in doing this!?
also, what type of degree or college major should I look in to, Theatre Arts!? Fine Arts!? Performing Arts!?
I'm thinking of going to Columbia University in N!.Y!.C (the Ivy Leauge one) !. Should I look into their school of Arts!.
And what other universities have majors for aspiring actors!?
Please help me figure this out!

In my opinion, you should definitely double major in acting and something else like communications or business just so you can get a job while you are building your career!. But to find a great school, pick up the book "Creative Colleges!." It's a great source for finding out about the best theatre schools in the country, learning how to get in, and what everything means (like the difference between a BA and BFA)!.Www@QuestionHome@Com
College is not necessary for acting!. unless you want to be a classical stage actor!. There are some very good schools for that!. I advise aspiring actors about college choice all the time!. I will be happy to help you!. I am a retired actor and university professor!.Www@QuestionHome@Com
Performing Arts is what you want!. If you have the money, then go for the Ivy League!. If not, just major in theatre with a concentration in Acting!.Www@QuestionHome@Com
