repetition, repetition, REPETITION is key! =]

divide up the speech into little parts!.

practice memorizing short sections first from the big speech!.
read them aloud and concentrate on your annunciation for about 10 minutes, then take a short 5 minute break and then come back and repeat!.

make sure you understand what you're saying/reading!. if you don't, you're just saying a bunch of stuff that you don't know anything about- look up a translation online if you need to

ok, so back to memorizing,
once you've become familiar with your lines, that's very good!.
start trying to memorize the first 2-4 lines!. read it over and over and then turn the paper over and see if the words will come to mind!.

take short breaks between each section practice!. you don't want to overstress yourself!.

as you try to memorize the sections together, clump the lines together so that they make sense together!. so that they're in an order that's easy for you to remember!.

and repeat, repeat, repeat!.

repetition is key here =)

Make sure you have actually read and are comfortable with the entire play, that way you are familiar with all of the details that have occurred throughout it!. That long speech by Friar Lawrence at the end sort of sums everything up right!? So try to like, put yourself in his place!. It sounds kind of dorky but it kind of helps on a mental level if you are memorizing it for "fun" instead of just because "you have to", ya know!? also, it helps to do one or two lines at a time, and just repeat them to yourself, then do another line right after it!. That way you get comfortable with short parts of it at first, and then you can begin to put it altogether!. Then you will know what "sounds right" when you are saying it back to yourself without the paper in front of you!. You still have the weekend to practice, so take your time with it and try to memorize it as best you can!. Good luck! =]Www@QuestionHome@Com

remembering lines!?

well i am in a modeling and acting agency called Osbrink!.
but some other teens my age told me repetively write my lines down over and over or record it on a camera or phone and play it over and over and over!. It i like the recording one better because its just like hearing a song over and over that you can memorize it!.Www@QuestionHome@Com
