Question: Acting, where to start!?
This is something I really want to do, but I live in Chicago!. My mom supports my family and I by herself and doesn't have money for acting classes, etc!. I'm dying inside, this is something I really really want to do and there is no where to start and nothing I could do to my knowledge!. I'm 15 years old, I wanted to act since I was really young but now I really want to do something before its to late!. Since my mom can't really pay for acting classes I do try and practice by myself, I watch many movies a day, I watch people and how they act in certain situations and so forth!. I will pursue acting no matter what happens!. If anyone could help me with where to start or anything, It would be great!.

Thanks in advance!.Www@QuestionHome@Com

Since you're only 15 you should take drama classes in school!. When you're 16 you should get a part-time job to pay for acting classes!. Try Second City in Chicago, they might have teen classes, especially in the summer!. I know that a lot of famous people have studied there, like Chris Farley!. Look it up online!.Www@QuestionHome@Com

Here is a suggestion!. Try joinig at this site: ExploreTalent!.com I recently joined and I was amazed that it was free, could cost if you need more, but you can look and find those who are casting in the Chicago area and send them an e-mail letting you know that you are available and they will audition you and you might even get a paid position!. Even if they don't pay you, you can have an opportunito to be on a set and learn the ropes!. If you prove to be good, someone might recognize that and you could start a fine career!. There are testimoials on that site of folks who have gotten good positions, even kids!! Check it out!.Www@QuestionHome@Com

Get involved with school productions - it's the best place to start!. Or community theatre -won't cost you anything and it's a great learning ground!. Once you've left school, audition for acting programs at university and go from there! Good luck!.Www@QuestionHome@Com

You are going to have to start at school!. be in all the speech and drama things, the acting competitions and plays!. Get a job asap and start saving for acting school!. Act in every play you can find!. That is where to start!.Www@QuestionHome@Com

I'd try working for a cable company or study theatre arts or production!. now plz answer my friends question: http://answers!.yahoo!.com/question/index;!.!.!.Www@QuestionHome@Com

1!. Training!. Acting/Dancing/Singing classes are a good start!. You start to get some talent under your belt, and grow your confidence!. Plus, if after about a year of classes if you realize you really don't like it, it'll be easier for you to back out!.

2!. Experience!. Do Community Theater, act in your school play, get in some student films, etc!. You'll want to do as many productions as possible to have a great resume!.

3!. Agent!. http://www!.soyouwanna!.com/site/syws/tale!.!.!.

As you can see, you're going to need to spend at least two years (At the VERY least!. Usually you'll need three to four!.) building yourself up!. You'll want to make sure this is what you really want to do before you start getting into this!.

also, you should NEVER have to pay for anything when it comes to getting an agent!. If an agent tells you to take special classes from them or a website asks for a credit card number, that is a red flag that it is a scam!. Some of the big scammers out there are: John Robert Powers, Millie Lewis, John Casablancas, Proscout, Model Look, Barbizon!.

Hope this helps and I wish you a fantastic career!. =)Www@QuestionHome@Com

First you going to have to go to acting schools for training!. Not only one but a couple!. Then you should get in local plays, school plays, student films!. You could search for auditions on craigslist!.com or subscribe to backstage!.com The you should get headshots that look like you!. Professional headshots are pretty expensive they cost $200-$1000 but on craigslist you could find less expensive headshot that range from $50 to $150!. As you get more and more credits on your resume, you may want to go for an agent!. An agent gets you auditions and they want people who they think would nail all the auditions they give!. If you get a part in an audition!. The money you make out of that work you pay 10% to your agent!. ONLY 10%!. If they ask for money upfront they are a SCAM!. Once you get an agent you would start getting a lot of auditions which means more audition!. As you make money out of roles you make you may want to get professional headshots!. Then in the future you may want to join Union such a SAG, AFTRA , AEA!.!.!.!. HOPE I HELPED
