Question: Can actors fake chemistry!?
Or do two actors need to have chemistry with each other in order for their characters to be romantically involved with each other!.!.!.!.!.!.to send chills and excitement and the energy of their chemistry to their audience!?

For example Mulder and Scully anyone!?

Their actors are playing with each other and kissing each other on the lips off camera in a pure friendship sort of way!.

So I was wondering can you fake chemistry or what!? How do actors/actresses work chemistry between their character and the character's love interest!? If you, the audience, can feel the heat, excitement, arousal, and chemistry from the characters, the actors/actresses have done their jobs right!? Feel free to explain!.Www@QuestionHome@Com

Best Answer - Chosen by Asker:
Good actors can!. Its a lot easier if there is actual chemistry between two people, though!.
You need to put your actual feelings toward the other person in a box and set it aside, at least when you are on stage!. Then use any feelings of love you have anyone else (past or present), and blur the line between the person and the Charcter of the person you want to have chemistry for!.
This is not easy!.
Sometimes the line blurs so completely that the fake chemistry turns into reality - love affairs between actors do occasionally start this way!. You are dealing with raw emotion which can be very difficult to control or channel properly!.Www@QuestionHome@Com

well when we did romeo and juliet, romeo and juliet were dating!.
but thsi year we did rumors
and none of the couples were dating each other, but cuz they were such good friends, and actors they could fake it!.

your working with the actor enough that the chemistry can come up through acting, but you just have to be comfortable with themWww@QuestionHome@Com

I played Romeo last year in a professional production, I did not get on well with the actress playing Juliet!. We are actors, so we pretended we loved eachother on stage!. The audience believed it!.!.!.Www@QuestionHome@Com
