Question: Is vocal belting safe, or does it damage your voice!?
I have heard people say that belting can hurt your voice!. Is that true!? What is a safe way of improving chest voice!? I do musical theatre and some songs were meant to be belted!.!.!. but if it will cause my voice to give out eventually, I'd rather not belt it!. How do you make a strong sound in the mid voice without damaging yourself!? (Mixtures of head/chest tend not to be as strong a sound, at least for me!.) Please help, and thanks!Www@QuestionHome@Com

i'd say that if you have to belt a song for a performance go for it but try not to do it all the time!. and if you don't need to belt a song don't!. i have heard that it can damage your voice but i also heard that it is only if you do it constint!. so if you do it when you need to your voice shud be all rite!. hope this helped!.Www@QuestionHome@Com

It's like how high or how low you can sing!. Some people have a higher range than others, some people have a larger belt range!.

If you can hit the notes without strainig, good for you! If not, don't try it, because you WILL ruin your voice!. Don't pick song that you can't belt, if you feel like it's the kind of song that MUST be belted!.

If you really, really feel that there is a song that you HAVE to sing, and that you MUST belt it, find a professional voice teacher to show you how to do it properly!.Www@QuestionHome@Com

If you are a big singer and want to belt a song out, then you need to train your voice!. Hire a vocal coach to teach you some singing exercises and warm-up songs!. It is very unlikely that you will damage your voice this way, if you have had expert training and you are in good health, then you should be fine!.Www@QuestionHome@Com

i think with anything, without proper training and control, you will damage yourself!. you're best option is to find a qualified vocal coach, pay the money, and get the training! check this out: http://en!.wikipedia!.org/wiki/Belt_(music!.!.!.Www@QuestionHome@Com

It will only cause damage if you don't do it properly!. You need professional training so that you learn to do it correctly with the proper support!.
