Question: Theatre voleenteering!?
I am 13 years old!.Do you think my local theatre would let me voleenteer as a stagehand!?I want to get some experience in theatre and heard Cmeron Mackintosh did this in his teens!.Nowdays do you think I'm to young to sign up!?Www@QuestionHome@Com

Absolutely! Local theaters always need help backstage or in the "house" doing all kinds of things, and you are absolutely old enough!. I've done shows at theaters that had 15-year-old stage managers and 8-year-olds helping to build the set!. Go for it!Www@QuestionHome@Com

Yes, definitely if it's a local/community theater!. I was on the running crew of a community theater show when I was 13 or 14!. Theaters always need help with props, set, running crew!. You may be able to 'assistant' stage manage, and learn the ropes, so to speak!. Just call the theater or even show up to a rehearsal and let them know you want to help! I guarantee they won't turn it down!

I don't know if at your age you could be a stagehand per se, but I think you would be welcomed as a volunteer in other aspects of the theater!.

It's a very good way to get experience and knowledge in how a show is run!.Www@QuestionHome@Com
