I am starting lessons in musical theatre vocals and acting in the hope that I can go onto drama school and hopefully become a professional!. Is it too late now for me to do this!? Is it hard to get into drama school!? How can I fund the drama school fee - is student loan available!? I live in Northern Ireland and want to go to London to study because I love the West End and want to go!.Www@QuestionHome@Com

It's not too late, but you need to start working hard! Big question - do you dance, do you want to do a musical theatre course such as Laine Theatre Arts, which is primarily dancing, with singing, then acting as priorities, or are you looking at making acting and singing your priorities with a lighter element of dance, say the musical theatre course at Central School of Speech and Drama!?

I'm presuming from your user name you're male - which instantly makes you 10 times more valuable than if you were female! But you still have stiff competition out there!.

Funding - depends on the course!. If it's a degree course, from the drama schools GENERALLY you can get a student loan!. But if it's not a degree, or a primarily dance college, you can't get a loan!. But there is the Dance and Drama Award - DADA - which is a scholarship!. But London is hideously expensive to live and study, virtually everybody needs an evening job to make ends meet, which cuts into the hours and energy you can put into your training!.

It is worth looking at colleges outside London too!. Yes, London's fabulous and glamorous, but the money is crippling!. It might well work out that you get better training elsewhere in the country then move to London on graduating!.Www@QuestionHome@Com
