Question: I want to go to LA to explore more acting oppourtunities!? Please Help!!?
I live in Canada and I am a young actor!. I have been acting for about two years and I want to go to LA to explore more oppourtunities this summer!. I have an agent and have done around 4 short films!. I know it may be a little soon in my career but I want to see what other people that are experienced with this line of work think !. I have talked to some other actors that I have worked with and some of them told me to go and visit LA or Hollywood because for them, it was a great experience!. I just want to know what I should do once I am there!. Do I contact agencies/casting directors!? If so, which ones!? Do I look at breakdowns!? etc!.!. I really would appreciate any help/advice you could me!. Thanks!.Www@QuestionHome@Com

honestly, you can't book a major movie job if you're only going to be there for the summer, because movies tend to wrap in 4 months, so unless you plan on staying for a year, don't bother!. You can take some acting workshops, and try to "get the gist" of how things work down there!. You can also do some commercials, because they wrap in about a day or two!. Ask around to see which agencies are the best and write them down for future references!. You can't really contact agents because they aren't interested in actors who don't live in the immediate area!.
My advice, enjoy Hollywood for what it is, a tourist attraction!.
Move there if you want to get major jobs!.

How young are you exactly!? Under 18!? If so, I'd wait a couple years!. You have your whole life to act - Focus on being a kid and having fun now!.Www@QuestionHome@Com

Anyone that told you that their first time in Hollywood was "a great experience" is lying to you, sweetheart! Hollywood and showbusiness is a killer and it will chew you up and not bother to spit you out, if you're not ready for it!. You didn't mention a portfolio or headshots- you need these!. Your agent should be familiar with contacts in LA, if not, get a new one!. If you're ready to be told no ten million times for that one chance at a yes, if you can handle harsh criticism (doesn't matter what age you are), and if your ready to work hard and shed some tears along the way, then go for it, kid!Www@QuestionHome@Com
