Question: Can you help me with acting!? I am new here!.!?
Hi!.!.!. Okay, so this is how it goes!. I REALLY REALLY want to act!. The problem is, I have never acted before, and I haven't found any acting auditions!. We know a director from Hollywood, (because I live in San Diego, CA) and he said to get an agent!. I had just moved here from Oxford, England in the UK and we had a brilliant drama class!. Now!.!.!. the school I go to, has a teribble one!. I want to know if you are from San Diego, and know any brilliant acting places that i could check out!? My mum and dad went to the Guildhall School of Music and Drama!. They have both been trying to look for a drama class!

Slendid! And Thank you!Www@QuestionHome@Com

Unless you have bunches and bunches of money I wouldn't reccommend an agent!. Everyone says "get an agent" but my advice is "get an education!." It is very hard to get in the theatre buissness without a good education!. Now, movies are a bit different!.

I'm 19 now, and it's just now that I am GETTING sure that I know what I want!. So experiment with movies, live theatre, and all facets that are out there

Very few actresses are being hired now without a college degree!. Finish highschool and get as many roles as you can in local theatre, in school theatre, look up auditions on the internet and audition for anything that comes your way!. Get as much experience as you can, but get your education too!. I will never regret finishing highschool and getting the highschool theatre experience, and then moving to college!.

I have learned so much in one single year at college!. Another venue to go to is a conservatory after highschool!. But college gives you something real to fall back on no matter what happens later in life!.

Once you turn 16 you can start working summers as theme parks such as Disney to get some real life experience in performance (and make connections along the way)!. Another way to go is Cruise Ships (once you're 18) for good live performance experience!.

Now, it's not very realistic to think that you'll just jump in a be famous, but there is work to be found everywhere!. But STAY IN SCHOOL!. Learn from your schooling!. Learn from the experiences you can get!. Learn, absorb, and take in all you can!.

Two books i reccommend are ACTING by Richard Boleslavsky (a personal favorite), and of course Uta Hagen's book (something every actor/actress should read)

Feel free to contact me marli8907@hotmail!.com if you have ANY questions!. I too am an aspiring actress, working and learning in my craft!. It is a beautiful art!.Www@QuestionHome@Com

What you could do is look for acting classes in other Universities and from there you could inquire about auditions for plays outside the school and start making a name for yourself!. When it's time for you to find an agent, find one through your director friend because there are so many websites that are just scams!. Good luck finding a class and with your acting career =)

You have not had a big enough career to get an agent or an audition you need to take some classes and get to work!Www@QuestionHome@Com

If you have never acted, then school and community plays are a must!. also finding a good acting studio is important because there are not going to be good classes in the schools and colleges!. There must be performing arts high schools in San Diego that you could try to get into!. I cannot vouch for the brilliance of any theatres or schools in your city, but do web searches of Community Theatres in San Diego and of Acting Classes in San Diego!. Good hunting!.Www@QuestionHome@Com
