Question: I am in this play where my character is molested, should I tell my mom!?
So ya I get molested by my brother, tell my best friend about it, best friend turns out to be my alternate personality, I kill my brother!. It's really really dark and scary as anything, my mom is really against those kind of plays in highschool settings, and we perform on june 9th so it's getting really close, I desperatly want my mom to see me perform at the top of my game but I think this would just lower her view of my acting skills because it's not her type of show!. What should I do!?Www@QuestionHome@Com

I don't know how hard headed your mom is on this matter but if it were me I would:

Tell mom!.!.!.I am in a play at school that I am really excited about, it gives me the opportunity to explore a role that is very edgy and different for me!. I think it is a part that you would rather I wasn't a part of but I think it would be an invaluable experience for me!. I also want you to know that I respect your view but, I would appreciate if you would support me in my venture and just know that I won't seek out these troubled characters for the rest of my life!.
If she doesn't want to hear it!.!.!.tell her you are sorry to have put her in that situation but, it would mean a lot to you if she would go to the play!.
You can't change your parents ( I am one now and did a lot of things my parents didnt approve of) but you CAN try to explain it and handle it very very calmly and maturely and that could make all the difference!.

Good Luck to you with mom!.!.!.!.and break a leg with your play!!!!Www@QuestionHome@Com

Just tell her!. She'll be really mad if she sees it there and you'll do really bad on the performance because you'll be nervous about the play AND what she's going to do!. If you're serious about acting you'll probably have to do roles that are edgy!. If you got the part you're probably very good because its hards to play those kinds of characters!.Www@QuestionHome@Com

Tell her how proud you are of your work in this show, and how much it matters to you!. Tell her that the subject matter is difficult and painful, but that the play deals with important issues that you believe young people need to be aware of!. Tell her that her love and support really matter to you!. She might surprise you!.Www@QuestionHome@Com

i think you should warn her that it will happen!. you probably should have told her as soon as you read the script!. too late for that now though!. she cant make you drop out, but she might get mad if you dont tell her soon!. good luck in your play!.Www@QuestionHome@Com

Tell her!. She should know - it's better she finds out from than from some one else and she WILL find out eventually,Www@QuestionHome@Com

If she asks you what the play is about tell her if not!.!.!.!.just let her find out!.Www@QuestionHome@Com

no - give her a surprise!. lol!. joke!.
yeah tell her!.Www@QuestionHome@Com

tell her!.!.!.!.!.its not a big dealWww@QuestionHome@Com
