Hii!
I'm a 14 year old girl who currently goes Part time to Sylvia Young Theatre School and I basically woudl like to answer your question!.
Firstly, CONGRADUALTIONS on being able to audition for the part! You should be proud that you got so far!.

Before you go into the audition room, Inhale deep breaths and Exhale deep breathe!. This allows you to concentrate and focus more on what you are about to be doing!.
Walk into the audition room with a smiel on your face, showign the judges/examinors that you are a confident chidl, that is brilliant for the part!.

If they ask you questions!. Give them a sentence, don't give them a one word answer, however, don't go on talking to them!.
Before you start to do the selected piece take a deep breath and say to yourself 'I can do this' and then put your best into the act!.
End the peice with a smile and a nod and then walk otu with a casual pace!.

Good luck, hope you get the part

stay calm and collected!. don't show that you are nervous and stay positive before during and after the audition!. Don't automatically think that you screwed up and aren't going to get the part!. try your best!. if they don't like your best there is nothing you can do!. your best bet is to do the best that you can and not try and be somebody you aren't!. Give them your best and they will remember that and when you audition for them again if you do, they will remember your confidence and your positiveness and the fact that you tried the best you could!. do you have to prepare a monologue and or song!? if you do pick a monologue that is meant fo teen girls!. don't pick one that is explicit and has profanity ,especially for Mary Poppins, pick one that was meant for your age group!. also, don't be afraid to over-act!. don't doubt yourself and try and add actions to your piece!. if you doubt your actions or something that you did or the way you said something it will effect the rest of your monologue!. once again feel confident that you know it without having to read it word for word from a paper!.
pick a song that compliments your voice!. don't pick one that has a note that you can't hit!. try not to pick a song with higher notes unless you feel 100% confident with them!. still, you shouldn't because it takes more air to hit high notes so try and stick with the notes in the middle!. stick within your voice range!.
break a leg!!!!
?
p!.s-- don't drink dairy the whole day or anything with tons of sugar in it like energy drinks!. stick to water and hot tea with lemon!. keep your throat moist and take chapstick!.

1!.Don't cause yourself any unnecessary stress!. Show up for an audition 10-15 minutes early and be prepared to wait!.
Once you've made it to the audition, you want the casting director to remember you!. If you've been given lines to read ahead of time, rehearse them with anyone you can!.

2!.Try not to be nervous!. We know you're bound to be anxious, but just remember that casting directors are people too and you'll do a much better job if you're relaxed!.

3!.Walk in with a big smile and a lot of confidence!. Nothing blows casting directors away more than peeps who exude self-confidence!.Www@QuestionHome@Com

The night before, make sure you drink plenty of water and get lots of rest!. Avoid sugary foods at all costs because they make you vocal chords all dry and funky!. Make sure you know the music and the acting piece (practicing them right before you go to bed helps A LOT)

Get to the acting place at LEAST 15 minutes early, so you can get a feel for the environment and everything!. Bring a water bottle with you, because when people get nervous their throats tend to get a little dry!. Look over the pieces again and take deep breaths and try to relax!. Smile, and act like the character!. Have an air of confidence around you, but don't be all showy, it makes you seem arrogant and directors don't like that!. Speak your name loudly and clearly, with a "good morning" or a "good afternoon"!.

If you mess up, DO NOT make a face, because they will know that you made a mistake!. If you forget the words don't say "aw crap"!.!.!.!. just stay silent, relax and try to remember the words!.

You'll be great! Best of Luck!Www@QuestionHome@Com

Do NOT drink an energy drink, sugar will ruin your voice!. If you're doing a monologue start to prepare and get into character on your way to the theater!. Warm up your voice in the car!. Take extra water and chapstick/lip gloss because having dry lips and throat is the last thing you want to worry about!. Before you start take a couple of deep breaths to steady your voice, and remind your self how much you love theatre and that it is the funnest thing ever!. Don't be afraid to be dramatic, I know that sounds stupid, but really!. Oh, and don't lock your knees!. :)Www@QuestionHome@Com

try to look reely confident and dont shake!.!.!.!.!.!.if ur reely the acting type of person, the further you'll go!.!.!.!.!.!.!.!.!.!.!.!.!.!.!.!.!.!.by da way, bring lucozade, its an energy drink with lots of sugar so you zing on the stage lol, (it may not be available in america if ur american)Www@QuestionHome@Com

Be yourself and be confident!. Really prepare yourself so that you don't get nervous, and even if you do, don't let it show!. And, above all, if you mess up a line, improvise!Www@QuestionHome@Com

Stay calm, don't drink an energy drink by the way, get lots of sleep if you want energy!. Practice until you are confident in what you are doing!. Good Luck!Www@QuestionHome@Com

Imagine yourself as that person and try to say the lines as you would really say them in real life!. Try not to sound like you're acting!.Www@QuestionHome@Com
