Question: Shakespeare help!?!!?
In Romeo in Juliet during act 2 scene three: the friars cell, Romeo talks to Friar lawrence!. They are talking about Romeo not loving rosaline, and loving juliet!. What does it mean when Romeo says: Thou chidst me oft for loving rosaline!?Www@QuestionHome@Com

Well, first off, "chidst" is the word we know of as "chide", meaning: to quarrel (fight), voice disapproval of, and angrily speak of!. "Oft" is what we know of as "often"!. So he's saying, "Why do you often chide (argue/angrily accuse with disapproval) of me loving Rosaline!? Hope that helps!Www@QuestionHome@Com
