Dude!. No agency in New York will represent you right now!. You don't have enough experience!. From your previous questions, you seem to think you can just jump into a "career" in acting!. I'm afraid it doesn't work that way!. FIrst and foremost, it is a business, not a high school talent show where just anyone can sign up and perform!.

Being a business, agencies are looking for people that they KNOW will book jobs!. First, they'll look at your "look" from your headshot!. Do they already have a bunch of actors who are your "type" on their books!? If so, they'll probably pass on you!. If they like your photo, they'll flip it over to look at your resume - does it show solid training and experience (in New York, you are going to be competeing with Juilliard and NYU grads, can you honestly say that you're competitive with that!?)!.
If you pass those 2, they'll call you in for an interview!.

Now!. It can take actors years to even get an interview with an agency in New York, let alone one of the "best"!. So, while your enthusiasm and ambition are great, if you want to have a career in this industry, you need to be realistic!. You will get chewed up and spit out in NY right now!. Build your resume, take some classes, audition for some shows!. Keep doing your research and formulate a plan for a move to NY or LA so that you don't end up like the thosands of wannabe's who either a!. return home in 6 months or b!. are still waiting tables 5 years later waiting for their "big break"!.

As for franchised vs!. non-fanchised, it doesn't matter!. A SAG-franchised agents means tha agent has to abide by the rules set out in SAG's policies!. A non-franchised agent is usualy a member of ATA or NATR and abides by their policies!. Both are legit!.

By the way, if you are abosulely positive in wanting to venture forward to look for an agency in NY, get a copy of the Ross Reports and look for agents who represent beginning actors!. Mailings are expensive and can cost hundreds of dollars, so you don't want to waster your time submitting to agents you have absolutely no shot at!.

Check out the book Ask an Agent by Margaret Emory!. She goes into lots of detail about things like when to begin looking for representation, what agents look for, how to market yourself, etc!.Www@QuestionHome@Com
