Best Answer - Chosen by Asker: He was hosting the feast anyway, and invited Paris so Juliet could get to know him!. "But woo her, gentle Paris, get her heart, My will to her consent is but a part;" Apparently this feast was an annual event: "This night I hold an old accustom'd feast, Whereto I have invited many a guest, Such as I love; and you, among the store, One more, most welcome, makes my number more!." Benvolio also refers to it as an "ancient feast", in other words a tradition: "At this same ancient feast of Capulet's Sups the fair Rosaline whom thou so lovest, With all the admired beauties of Verona:" This is all from Act 1 Scene 2, by the way!.Www@QuestionHome@Com The big Capulet party is so Paris can meet Juliet!.
