Best Answer - Chosen by Asker:
those at the casting table are looking for a number of different things!. everyone has something that is key for them in casting an actor, but here is a general list of things most directors, producers, casting agents, etc desire:

- ability to show range of emotions
- vulnerability
- willingness to give the part their all
- ability to take direction well
- a good match for the part they are casting
- schedule availability
- good interaction with other actors both on and off set
- easy to work with
- comfortable in front of an audience
- unexpected but accurate emotions in a reading
- not giving the same performance every time
- experience (sometimes)
- personality/likability

i work as a professional choreographer and am a professional actress/singer, and have sat on many audition panels!. these are definitely some things i take notice of, as do the directors i am working with!. i hope this helps!. there might be one thing that can make or break it for you, but everyone has different standards and tastes!. in general though, these are all excellent qualities, talents, and attributes to have!. best of luck!Www@QuestionHome@Com

They look for your ability to act!. (duh-uh) haha!.

it actually depends on what role they are looking for!. Even if you are able to act but you're not what they're looking for in terms of character or look, you won't get the role!.

It's very important to research before an audition!. Find out what role you are auditioning for and choose a similar monologue just to give them a glimpse of what you'll be like if u are given the role!.

also prepare a contrasting monologue just in case they want to see your ability to act in diverse roles!. Always remember that your audition starts the moment you walk into the room!. First impression count!.

all the best!Www@QuestionHome@Com
