ok this is difficult as you are only 13!
this is your life not your mums!
but remember you need to think logicaly! 1 in a million people become an actor/ess, singer, dancer, famous!

if you want to get into acting now, join a school drama club and get into all the school productions!
when you are 16 you will be old enough to look into gettin a manager or something!
Good luck huni i hope it all works out for you xxxWww@QuestionHome@Com

I think you should wait a year or two, then decide, the worlds your oysterWww@QuestionHome@Com

take an acting class at schoolWww@QuestionHome@Com

sounds to me like u need to sit down and discuss this proply wiv ur mum!. but im sure u cud study both at uni!. enrole at drama group while ur young coz u cant study medicine till u got ur a levels drama group will broaden u mind a u will be able to make a better discision when u have finished high school!.i wanted 2 b a pro golfer!. my dad woudnt let me a nd made me do school work!. now im a builder and make a good living!. still enjoy playin golf but my acadamic qualls dont really have a use at the mo!.Www@QuestionHome@Com

Tell your mom how you feel and ask if you can compromise!. You will keep up your grades and take the courses you need to go to med school, but you will also take some drama classes!. Your mom knows how hard it is too become an actress and how shady the business is!. She just wants to protect you from pervs and con artists!. Most actors have gone to university!. There is nothing to stop you from going to school and seeing if acting works out, too!.Www@QuestionHome@Com

1!. get in some school plays!. 2!. no way are you going to be able to start at 15!. 3!. if mum doesn't come around you can only do school stuff until you ar 18!. 4!. Life is not fair, not is it intended to be!. actingcareerstartup!.com has a couple of articles on how to convince your parents that you should try to become an actor!.Www@QuestionHome@Com

well its not very fair to you!. talk to your mom and make her sit down!. tell her that you do not think what she is doing is fair!. tell her to at least not tell people that she wants to be a doctor!. tell her its your life and you can be what she wants!. tell her that you dont want to be a doctor, its her dream, not yours!. tell her this nicely!.Www@QuestionHome@Com

Easy, when it comes to picking your lessons for GCSE, pick one that will aid u 2 help become a doctor like seperate sciences, and drama or any type of acting as well, so then you can go along with both an see where it takes u!

Then when it comes to A-level time u cud prolly do the same lessons again! or take college courses/whatever u plan to do lol!.!.
good luck with it all then i guess XDWww@QuestionHome@Com

Join a theatre youth group and get as involved as you can to prove to her how commited you are!. Over the summer, get in to the national youth theatre!. Do all your homework and everything else that your mum asks of you to keep her on side, then you can dig your heels in about this one thing, but by doing everything else she asks of you, she won't feel that you are just rebelling against her!. Get her to see the plays you are in in the youth group!. If the youth group is cr*p, join a different one!. also join the school drama group and do the school plays!. In a few years, (when what you decide to do after school really matters) then explain to her just how much this means to you!. When you are older, get into a good acting school!. If you get an agent - now or in the future don't join one if they expect you to pay anything up front!!!.

Your mum only wants the best for you and I understand why she wants you to be a doctor - it pays well and money is important nowadays, but it is your life and you have to decide what you want in the long run!. Stability and continuity will make her see what you really want - joining theatre groups and volunteering at your local theatre will show her what you really want and how serious you are about things - you could even entertain her doctor idea for a while - you won't even be filling in medical school forms for at least another 5 years!! - and at least if you do entertain her doctor idea and research it - you then have something to argue back when she says "how do you know you won't like being a doctor"!.

I have worked in theatre all of my life and unless you really want it - you won't enjoy it!. The hours are long and the pay is not brilliant!. Unless you are extremely determined or get very lucky - you will not earn millions!!.

It is however a very interesting career - I have never gotten bored of it!.

Good luck!Www@QuestionHome@Com
