looking for!. I've done two previous auditions that were of similar format!. I have to do a 1 minute monologue (Ursuala from Bye Bye Birdie) and 32 bars from a song ( I chose Once upon A December from the movie Anastasia!.) I am trying out for the Secret Garden and really want to get Mary but I'm not really sure what they're looking for!. I can sing well and am naturally a drama queen but is there anything I can do that can ensure my spot as a lead or good part!? There are like 500 kids auditioning and they aren't casting too many like 30 or so at the most so it would behoove me to stand out as much as I can! Advice!.!. tips!.!. I don't get nervous that easily!.!.I used to have stagefright but I overcame it!. This play is a bigger deal then my others!. If I don't get in I will be really depressed!.Www@QuestionHome@Com

First off, be promt!. They love love LOVE people who are easy to work with and follow direction well!. Its not always your performing they like, its off stage too!. And stay focused!. When your on stage, your not you anymore!. If you can convince yourself that you are mary, it shows!. Make sure you know the show too!. If they ask you to read the script (which they will) your gonna want to know whats going on in the sceen!. And if you mess up, dont EVER react to it!. That means, no "oops" face!. If you handle a screw up well, that means huge browny points for the director!Www@QuestionHome@Com

It depends on the director, each director knows what he or she is looking for when casting actors in roles!.Www@QuestionHome@Com

Directors are looking for moxie! 1!. vigor; verve; pep!.
2!. courage and aggressiveness; nerve!.
3!. skill; know-how!.
THey want to see what you have to offer not only as an actor, but as a person!. Go in with confidence, but don't be cocky!. Relax, and put your own personal touch in your character, so they can see you are flexible!. Smile, and keep in mind how you are standing, and where your arms are!. Try staying in neutral at all times!. That means legs and shoulders relaxed, arm at your side, and neck held high!. Show them you are mature enough to handle the part!. They want to see you have more than just talent!. Tons of those kids will be just as good as you (no offense) so you need to bee different, and insure you are remembered!. good luck!Www@QuestionHome@Com

Well, directors look for a person that stands out!. someone who can be totally in character, and then in the next second switch to another character!. That's what being an actress is all about!. They look for someone who isn't afraid to give everything they got!. So good luck!Www@QuestionHome@Com

All role are cast first by looks, then by ability, then by personality!. So, if you are what they have envisioned the role to look like, and you show good ability in your audition and you have plenty of pep and enthusiasm, you may well get cast!. But who cares if it is the lead!? Being one of 30 out of 500 is pretty good and every role including the chorus is important to the success of the show and that is, of course, what all professional are most concerned about, the show!.Www@QuestionHome@Com

It may seem simple but so many people forget it

From the second they say start, you are your charictor

Every second of the monolouge you are your charictor

Every second of the song you are your charictor

If you do that (fairly basic) stuff you'll do wellWww@QuestionHome@Com
