Question: Your personal opinion!?
Which of these headshots is better!?
I'm 16, and they will be used for theatrical auditions, not modeling or anything!.
And please be perfectly honest!. If they're all rubbish, you can tell me!.

Thank you so much!. I'll answer your questions too!

It probably depends on what you want to use if for, who would view it, what you are trying to portray, the type you want to communicate!.

I was trying to think which one I would have liked the best if I had seen these head shots when I was casting for my last video!. I would have chosen number 3!. The reason is that for me it shows more range!. In that photo I can see different types of girls!. In the first two no!.

For some reason I don't like number 2!. It looks too flat!.

At any rate, here is a page on my site for new and aspiring actors about head shots and how to have them retouched if necessary!.

One more thing!. There has been a serious shift to color photos!. Not saying that b&w won't work, but you should check!.
I often talk about studying the industry before you get started doing anything!. This is one of the many reasons why!. Let's say an actor spends a lot of money getting head shots in b&w and finds out that the casting directors and agents they need to contact only want color!. That would mean that that actor might not get that much out of their money!.

Good luck!

I like the second and third one best, although they are all OK!. Maybe you could smile a little!.Www@QuestionHome@Com

Hiya, my very first impression was photos 1 & 2 you kinda look like a spoilt little kid being moody!. But the last one is great, I could imagine that person as taking on many different characters and emotions!.Www@QuestionHome@Com

I liked the first one!.Www@QuestionHome@Com

you look great but if you want them to see YOU then show them you are there, smile, that is the key, to show emotion!. a peaty face is great but emotion is betterWww@QuestionHome@Com

If it's for casting, the third is the only appropriate one!. The others are too close!. They look great, and your expression is better in them, but as a director, I want to see more than just your face!.

The third is good, but the expression could be more neutral!. You look like you're going to call me some horrible name!. A smile is not conventional in a casting photo, but it is better to smile than scowl!.Www@QuestionHome@Com

I really would prefer to see more warmth in your face!. You have good features and look nice on camera, but the expression is so serious it looks a little harsh!. You don't have to go for a wide smile but you can relax your mouth muscles and maybe show a bit of teeth!.

Out of the three, I think I would like to see what the third one looks like with some of the black cropped out, and a closer zoom in on your face!. Are there any smiling shots from this session!?Www@QuestionHome@Com
