Question: Who has seen "In The Valley of Elah"!?

Why was that title chosen!? What do you think was the theme of the film, as opposed to the plot!?Www@QuestionHome@Com

I saw it last night!. The title comes from the biblical story of David and Goliath!. that's where their battle took place and it's used as a metaphor of one person trying to overcome his fear and take on something bigger than himself!. This metaphor is applied to Mike, who went to Iraq, taking on his own fears, and also his father, who battled to find his son's killer!.
I'd say the theme is how war affects the survivors: Mike (and those who killed him) were turned from normal, decent lads into monsters because of the horrors they faced in Iraq!.

I wouldn't say the film is a really enjoyable one if you want to relax or have a fun evening but it is thought-provoking, and i'd highly recommend it for that!.Www@QuestionHome@Com
