I live in Boston but i'm willing to go almost any where for acting schools!. has anyone gone to acting school and found the school really sucked!. or really helped and was great at getting them started!. was the school expensive!. Best Answer - Chosen by Asker: The choice of an acting school is really important!. When I first started studying acting, I jumped around a bit, because I wasn't completely satisfied with my teacher and/or the method!. I didn't think the method really spoke to my learning style and two of the teachers I had in the beginning really didn't seem like they had my best interests at heart!. They played favorites and let certain people work more than others!. I personally don't like that!. Others would say that I should have just stayed there and then one day I would have graduated into that part of the class that got special attention from her!. As I said, I didn't like that and didn't accept it!. Then I finally found my Meisner teacher and I wouldn't want to change! If I had it to do all over again, I would have read a few books first like: Sanford Meisner On Acting and The Art Of Acting by Stella Adler Those books give you a good idea of what a good acting class is like, what you do and what you can expect!. They also give you a lot of insight about acting methods, even though those books cover only two of many!. You have to remember that it's not just a school you are choosing or a teacher, but also a method, which is really important as well!. You need to take classes for experience, but not everyone can afford fancy schools!. A lot of actors who are successful didn't go to a top-dollar school!. Look some of your favorite actors/actresses up and see what schools they went to if you are really unsure!.Www@QuestionHome@Com |
