I am in the same boat!. I loved playing music and when High School was over, I just thought you were supposed to stop!. Twenty years later, my son gets a harmonica from his grandparents (normally a gift they would get scolded for) and I bought a book so we could learn together!. Now I have the itch to make music again!.

It is just like riding a bike again only now you REALLY do have a fear of falling over!. Start small, you did it before, you can do it again!.

take a deep breath and go for it! you'll enjoy it when you get there!.!.!. break a leg :-)Www@QuestionHome@Com

Imagine the audience is in their underwear!. =)
If that doesn't work, then just tell yourself that during your audition, you're doing a private show and the people watching you already paid for their tickets!. Stand up straight, keep composure and find a monologue that suits your personality well so that you don't have to crawl too far outside of your box!.

Most importantly, have fun with it!. When you audition, the casting crew wants to see that you're going to love whatever it is you're auditioning for--not nervous!. Be confident, cool, calm and collected!. You can do this!Www@QuestionHome@Com

I was always more comfortable when I had read the play before auditions and would like to be any of several roles!. I had no particular need for a lead role!.Www@QuestionHome@Com
