Position:Home>Theater & Acting> Future in Acting???

Question:I am 13 years old. I am going to LA next summer just to audition. I have no experience. I am going down for 5 days. What are my chances? even a tiny part with only one or 2 lines is fine. Also, are there websites just for like paramount pictures and Walden Media. I would like Disney but I don't think I can make it. I have experience modeling. And a little bit with the Local theatere in Omaha. Any advice would be great! please tell me the truth about what chance I have. I wont be offended or hurt!!

You can do it, you can do anything if you work hard enough at it. Something, really the one thing that will truly help, is to know that the only way to actually succeed in anything, including theater, is to love God and others with all that you do. We act not to impress people, not to indulge in selfish desires, not to make money, but to tell the world something good, to show them a character's life, to reveal a defect in society. Our purpose is to serve and cherish our audience.
Remember, there is no barrier between amateur and professional theater except the one conjured by the whims of a reckless society. You are not considered an advanced dramatist unless you work like one. Work, hard grueling work at times, but work, always always always yields a return. The return could be something so inadequate and vain as the material possessions we need to survive, or it might be something so glorious and satisfying as a light shed on the life of someone who was suffering. But hard work is rewarded.

Good luck! God bless you!

Even small speaking parts are extremely difficult to come by. Your best bet is just doing some extra work, at least that you can do. Here is a website with info on what to do.....

If you get more and more experince before you go, you MIGHT have a chance to get a agent there but not a role in a show or something. Just work on building up your resume and instead of getting a agent in L.A, you should get one in your area and maybe when you have enough expereince you can go there

Good Luck and God Bless!
