Imagine audience naked? Try not to laugh...

Read about stage fright here:

Good luck with whatever you are trying to do
Chris

Picture the audience in their underwear.

Well, the obvious answer would be to imagine the audience in their underware. But what I do is think that they aren't even there. It's just teh people on the stage who are there. Just forget that the audience is even there.

Not look at them but the aisles. Or, a couple of pints. Just kidding on the last one.

just pertend you are practicing in your room. But, don't forget to look out at your audience. You take it slow and easy, don't rush, don't tense up, smile, be calm, relax, breathe!!!! Just pertend that you are practicing in your room. Good luck!

Once you get pass the beginning, then you get relaxed and then you take control and YOU TAKE CHARGE ! I was caught off guard and was called up impromptu at a family reunion of about 60 people ( most of family that I had never met ), bt after the initial, I had to stop myself.
TAKE CHARGE AND OVERPOWER THEM AND HAVE FUN OR GET MAD.

i have stage fright too but all i say in my head or out loud is:pretend theres no audience.it really works for me...

i tried imagining the audience naked...that didn't work. i even left my contact lenses in the dressing room...that worked for a little while.

two things that worked for me early on. 1) find a spot at the back of the house (like an exit sign) to focus on and focus on that. 2) (and definately when you are more confident than you are now) find one or two people in the audience that you can talk to directly, and give the lines to them. this becomes easier over time. besides, your audience is with you, despite your fears, once you've opened your mouth, they are with you. you've got them, so make it work for you.

i hear Brian Dennahey still gets stage fright after all these years, so don't feel alienated. you'll do fine!
