Breathing from your diaphram. You must practice your breathing. Humming is also a wonderful way to strengthen your vocal chords. Starting with a strong breath taken all the way to your diaphram and begin to hum. The resonance should make your lips tingle and tickle. Be aware of how the sound is in your head. By moving your tongue around, different resonators will sound. Now, with you strong, diaphragmatic breath behind you, say the vowels out loud. Really exaggerate the vowels as you speak them, as in; aaaeeee iiiieeeee.

Always be aware that your breathing is the most important thing you do in your life. Everytime you begin a conversation, remember to breathe.

Best of luck

practice in front of the mirror. Alot of weak voices is due to a lack of confidence. If that doesn't work, just use a microphone

lets see..i do alot of singing for my church, and i do have a strong voice. alright, I think what might help you is if you do voice exercises. I know it sounds silly, but trust me on this, it works. so, like, four times a week or so, just do voice exercises...like singing...it will totally help!! it won't come at first, but when you do it habitually, it will. Good luck to you!! let me know what happens!

I would advise you to get voice lessons.

well you need to be confident. That is the main thing. I use to be like that for choir, but then i didn't care what anybody of me anymore, & i think thats will help you.
Just forget what people will think. As long as you get the part, by doing well thats all that matters.

believe it or not, Pilates will help you develop a strong speaking and singing voice. the reason why is once you have identified your core muscles, your energy and breathing makes for a stronger diaphragm. Pilates realigns you so that you stand correctly (one of the first things i noticed was that my posture automatically 'corrected' itself). with good posture, and a strong core, you can control your vocals.

BTW - i don't get a sore throat anymore when i'm performing on stage before large crowds anymore - talking or singing!

i started doing Pilates after i found out one of my favorite singers (Rachelle Farrell) does Pilates five days a week - and that chick has one amazing voice with a range that is out of this world. i figured if it worked for her, why not?

good luck with that.

if you can get your director to critique you, that is best...this is something i do to help:
stand in the middle of your stage and say a line. Sya it facing forwards, sideways and backwards. Walk around while you say your line. Walk back a front. If you walk back far enough, you will find a place where you "disappear" (it sounds strange, but you will know what i mean when you do it) this is the place where you need to practice.
Now try saying your line in different ways. First, just do it normally, then shout. Then try to say it while you are yawning, try to say it like a really little kid. The more different ways you try, the easier it will be to find what keeps you from disappearing. I always have to make my mouth very wide when I deliver lines. Once you find what you need to do, start over with the entire process.
*This sounds very strange, but it really helps!*
