Can i use a part of a book as a monologue for an audition?

Question:not like Shakespeare or anything. I want to use a part of the book New Moon by Stephenie Meyer for a monologue for an audition.
Would that be allowed or does it need to be from a movie?

It depends on how serious the audition is. I don't think there would be any problem with doing that. I don't think... I'm pretty sure. I would bet good money that you could. I hope you get the part! Make sure you pick a place that would really be a monologue.
