Study hard, and when it comes time to perform, pretend you already did a great job and you're just re-reading it for a film. It helps give you confidence, and takes away nervousness. Just remember to study!

really dive into the scene... be the character, don't just act it... think, walk, talk and be the character. make it real to you. try and picture a glass wall between you and your classmates, just kinda let them fade into the background, the only that should exist in your mind at the time is the scene.

People always say to try to ignore the "crowd" in some way, which, in a classroom setting might be hard. I think since you have friends in the class, focus on them, and feed off of their reactions. It makes it easier when someone you know is there making you comfortable. Even get toghter with that person at your house and practice with them, then you'll be used to them being there when you recite it...

well first so you can overcome stage fright you need to feel confident that you know the words to the rap that you will be doing then, put clothes that makes you feel great and not
UN comfortable then.

then think this in your mind and feel it

Always act like you're wearing an invisible crown.

One great monologue is Lady Macbeth's " get the spot off" from Macbeth, Shakespeare. Just remember that everyone else is going to be where you are...in front of everyone and having possibly to look like a fool. That's how kids are.
My suggestion to you is to practice in front of a mirror, your family, and maybe some close personal friends who you trust.
When you actually perform take yourself mentally to your comfort zone...if you start out a little shaky build on that, get stronger...I know you can.
I used to be the most fearful speaker that you could imagine. My school when I was in grade 4 promoted a speech writing and performing competition. I, for 3 yrs. always made it to the semi finals and when in grade six hosted what was a big deal, gynmasium packed performance for parents and friends. It was nerve wracking.
I now speak to rooms of people and am nervous always, but as long as I am confident in what I say and truly believe there is no reason for me now not to speak out...in public if necessary.
