Position:Home>Theater & Acting> Is there a difference in the two books of "Wicked?"?

Question:Or are they simply different covers? I have taken a huge intrest lately, and would to love to read the book because the chances of me getting tickets are invisable.This has probably been asked before, and I apologize, but it really confused me, they were many differrent answers.

If anyone can tell me this and if the book is very diffrent from the play (without to much detail, please. Nothing worse then a ruined ending) I would adore them forever.

Well, the one with the circle cut out of the cover where you open it to find a larger picture is the original cover for the novel. The one with the logo from the musical is the musical tie-in edition, and it has pictures from the original broadway cast in the middle. The two are exactly the same.

The book is the basis for the musical and is a very heavy read. It is an adult novel not only for the occasional use of swear words and the sex, but because it deals heavily with religion and politics. The begining is slow, but I like it because of the background it gives to later happenings.

If there are parts of the book that confound you, go to:
http://www.gregorymaguire.com/discussion...
It's the official Gregory Maguire discussion boards, and if you look through the pages in the Wicked: The Life and Times of the Wicked Witch of the West forum, or do a search, you'll probably find something to help you understand. Also, if you can't find your answer, post whatever question(s) you have in one (1) topic.

Also, it's better to finish the book and mark whatever you're unsure about, and then go to the discussion boards because some questions are answered in other parts of the book.

There is only one Wicked.

It's the same book, there's just two covers. {The original and the musical logo}

The book is pretty different from the play, it's a lot darker and more mature.
