Do the scene is small sections and repeat that scene until they have it down well. Then continue to the next section. Once section two is down well, put sections one and two together. Surprisingly, once they start to get comfortable with several sections the other sections will come quicker.

By the way, I have a B.A. in Theatre and Speech, but am also an elementary teacher.

Remember to tell the kids these things: Diction, diction and more diction! You have to speak clearly. Tell them, don't be embarassed by what they have to do, if you feel stupid, your doing it right. Go through all the blocking before you do lines, that is very important. If you have to, get rid of some of the lines, that might make it easier. As for lines, what my drama teacher used to do was have every one in the play sit in a circle and go through all the lines. Try to do it without scripts to. Tell the kids to write all their blocking on the scripts. I hope this helps, I'm just passing on what my drama teacher said. And also encourage them to them create a personality for their caracter.
