Position:Home>Theater & Acting> Drama project: scene from a play?

Question:I'm in an acting class and we have to find a play and act it out with a partner. It has to be a play that is modern (not Shakespeare, like its made after 1900), it can't be a musical. My partner is a girl and we have to act it out. So that means a scene with 2 girls and preferably no one else because they can't be there (unless that character doesn't talk during the scene.)

Note: The play can have guys and stuff in it, but I'm just looking for one SCENE where its just the girls. Please give me the name of the play as well!! Thanks in advance!

There is this GREAT play by Neil Simon, its called the Odd Couple. The first version he wrote was all guys, but he wrote a second version for just girls. The two characters you would be playing are Olive(messy) and Florence(I believe)(shes neat) and they are roomates. I suggest doing the scene where they are arguing, closer to the end, where Florence is about to move out. Its hilarious! Hope you can find it in time! And break a leg!

The odd couple is great, you could try a scene from Guys and Dolls, which was a really cute play. I'm sure you could find something about it online.
