What are the chances of getting tickets for Wicked in their lottery before the s

Question:I just saw Wicked in L.A. and would really like to take my boyfriend to see it. I know of the lottery that happens before the show at the Pantages...if your name gets called you get great seats for 25$. I also heard that if you don't get tickets from the lottery you can get good seats for half price- about $45. Has anyone ever bought tickets after the lottery happened the night of the show and gotten them for this price? I would greatly appreciate your responses!! :) Thank you.

You need to show up 2 and a half hours before the show to enter your name, and the drawing takes place a half hour before the performance. I know people who have both won and lost, but all ticket prices are reduced at the box office for the performance that day, so be aware of that. Wicked is currently the highest grossing Broadway musical, so the theatres it is performed at take advantage of that, and the theatre people want to fill every seat in every performance (which they usually end up doing because so many people want to see wicked).

My wife and I were fortunate to take advantage of this twice!!

Be prepared, though for a let down, as we saw others there who weren't lucky enough to get in.

I don't know about LA, but I tried it in NYC and the chances were very slim. Also, I think people cheated and put their name in like a million times, because this one family won all the Wicked tickets and all the 25th Annual Putnam County Spelling Bee tickets.
