Bat Boy is a wonderful little musical (a favorite of mine), but it was never on Broadway. In fact, it lost money when it ran in New York.

It played a small theatre further downtown called the Union Square Theatre. It opened the Spring before the attacks on the World Trade Center. After the attacks, a lot of New York shows closed because people were simply not going to the theatre in the wake of Sept 11th. Bat Boy was one of the shows that didn't make it.
