Position:Home>Theater & Acting> What musical should 1st-year performing school do?Question:My school only does really lame plays, but a lot of us want to do musicals. If we are successful in convincing someone to let us do musicals, what should we do? We need something semi-simple, but still VERY good! I would not want to do Wizard of Oz bcuz that's should be officially named the beginner's musical, even though I do like it. So, if you have any ideas, I would really appreciate it! Please do not cuss in your answer! Thanx! Best Answer - Chosen by Asker: My school only does really lame plays, but a lot of us want to do musicals. Thanx! try these: hsm (not a very good show, but good for kids) grease (do an edited version) beauty and the beast Peter Pan Bye Bye birdie Hello Dolly Music Man Oklahoma Chicago 7 Brides for 7 Brothers Peter Pan Wicked Tom Sawyer Beauty and the Beast south pacific is so much fun it's a love story pippin is about a young teenage boy who is the heir to the throne but he doesn't know what he really wants to do with his life. Into the Woods! ? It's amazing, and there's a Jr. version, if you wanted to do that. http://www.broadwayjr.com/store/showkitp... Some of the previous ones can't be done because the rights have not yet been released - and Wicked is definitely not a beginner's musical - but I would suggest Seussical, Fiddler on the Roof, or Once on this Island. ok. my first musical was ''Annie''. youd think it be corny, but its not . it is a FANTASTIC play. :) Fiddler on the Roof is a good starter play. Ohh and Bye Bye Birdie! Oklahoma!!! |
